Galaxy Processing is the largest distribution center of The Star Group – the name really speaks for itself! Focus
The focus of the QC Team Member is to check all incoming and outgoing product to ensure all product meets customer specifications and expectations.
Key Accountabilities
· Ensure that all incoming and outgoing product meets strict quality standards
· Communicate with sales team, production and distribution teams on all aspects of the product to make sure we have the best product coming in and going out to our customers.
· Identify and communicate problems in a timely manner to minimize loss
· Will need to learn how to operate a forklift
Key Attributes and Skills
· Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and ability to learn in-house software programs
· Strong Attention to Detail
· Communication skills (verbal, written, listening)
· Strong organizational, interpersonal, and problem solving skills
· Ability to learn and adapt to new skills
· Teamwork & initiative
Education and Experience
· Previous experience in a produce industry is preferred
· Knowledge of food safety & quality assurance is an asset
· Forklift experience is preferred
Working Conditions
· Hours may be irregular and in excess of 8 hours per day or 40 hours per week
· Work outside ordinary office hours may be required with occasional overtime
· Working on Weekends ( Saturday and Sunday ) is required
Physical Requirements
· Occasional lifting and carrying of up to 50lbs
· Work in cooler environment
· Prolonged periods of standing
