Construction Manager – Civil Construction / Earthworks
Weaver Group Limited (WGL) is seeking an experienced Construction Manager to support a large-scale remote construction project based in Northern Saskatchewan.
This is a leadership role for an experienced civil construction professional with a strong background in heavy civil construction, earthworks, workforce leadership, and remote project execution. The successful candidate will play a key role in leading field operations, supporting project delivery, and maintaining strong relationships with project teams and client representatives.

About the Role
The Construction Manager is responsible for overseeing daily field construction activities related to heavy civil construction and large-scale earthworks operations. This role will provide leadership to supervisors, foremen, subcontractors, and field crews while ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project requirements, schedules, quality standards, and client expectations.
The ideal candidate is a strong field leader who can effectively manage site operations, support workforce productivity, communicate professionally, and build positive working relationships in a fast-paced construction environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee daily construction activities on site.
- Manage heavy civil construction and large-scale earthworks operations.
- Coordinate supervisors, foremen, subcontractors, and field crews to ensure safe and efficient execution of work.
- Monitor construction progress, workforce productivity, equipment utilization, and operational performance.
- Support planning and execution of construction activities to meet project schedules and milestones.
- Review project drawings, specifications, and field requirements to support construction execution.
- Identify operational issues, site risks, and scheduling concerns and support timely resolution.
- Coordinate labour, equipment, materials, and subcontractors to maximize efficiency and productivity.
- Maintain strong communication with project leadership, field teams, subcontractors, and client representatives.
- Participate in project meetings and provide operational updates as required.
- Promote a positive, professional, and team-oriented work environment.
- Champion a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with company policies, client requirements, and applicable regulations.
- Support quality standards and continuous improvement initiatives across site operations.
Qualifications
- Minimum 10+ years of progressive experience in heavy civil construction and earthworks operations.
- Previous experience in a Construction Manager, General Superintendent, Senior Superintendent, or similar leadership role on large-scale industrial, infrastructure, mining, or civil construction projects.
- Strong understanding of earthworks operations, construction sequencing, productivity, and field execution.
- Experience working in remote, camp-based environments and rotational schedules preferred.
- Proven ability to manage client expectations professionally and effectively.
- Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to lead teams in fast-paced and high-pressure construction environments.
- Valid Class 5 Driver’s License required.
- Relevant construction management, engineering, or technical education considered an asset.
Additional Requirements
- Must be able to work a rotational schedule based on operational needs.
- Must be able to work in a remote, camp-based project environment in Northern Saskatchewan.
- Cross-shift coordination and operational flexibility required.
- Ability to work extended hours as operationally required.

Work Environment
This position is based on a remote industrial construction project in Northern Saskatchewan. Work will be performed in active construction environments with regular exposure to heavy equipment, outdoor conditions, and changing weather.
