Island Construction and Environmental Ltd., (ICEL) a design/build construction company, is hiring for a Manager of Operations in Newfoundland to oversee the construction and maintenance of various infrastructure elements on sites, such as roads, drainage, utilities, grading, landscaping, utility installation, site preparation and site maintenance.
The Manager of Operations will be responsible for all day-to-day operations on the construction site including but not limited to:
- Leading teams and various sub-contractors to complete tasks for projects within the company
- Inspecting work progress and maintaining required documents
- Overseeing routine operations, materials management and quality management
- Provide training and evaluation to employees
- Commitment to safety and quality standards
REQUIRED:
- Certified CET
- At least 10 years of construction experience
- Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications, AutoCAD and Civil 3D knowledge
- Knowledge of construction processes, materials, and legal regulations
- Able to travel on occasion
- References from like employers with similar work
- Driver’s license
- Excellent communication and strong problem-solving skills with the ability to handle stressful situations with confidence and composure, as well as the ability to communicate clearly with sub-contractors
Other information: Your employment will be probationary for the first three (3) months, salary will be ~ $90,000 less taxes and with-holdings, paid weekly with three weeks vacation scheduled at a time convenient to employer.
