About the role
WeekAway Management operates a curated portfolio of luxury short-term rental properties in Canmore, Alberta. We're looking for a reliable local caretaker to be our eyes and ears on the ground — someone who takes quiet pride in keeping things in excellent shape.
You'll work directly with the owner — no middle management, no bureaucracy. This role starts with two properties and is expected to grow as the portfolio expands, bringing more responsibility and income with it.
What you'll do
- Weekly walk-throughs — check lights, heat, tidiness, and overall condition (~15 min each)
- Monthly inspection — thorough check against a checklist covering appliances, plumbing, wear and tear, and supplies
- Receive deliveries — coffee, Amazon, occasional Canadian Tire runs; drop off at nearby storage
- Minor fixes — lightbulbs, breakers, batteries, loose hardware, and resetting homes after cleaners
- Meet tradespeople — check in on painters, cleaners, and contractors on-site when needed
- Light assembly — occasional setup of small items like luggage racks or décor
Compensation
- $750–$1,000/month flat rate — no timesheets, no tracking (~$75/hr equivalent)
- Busier months with extra tasks are compensated accordingly
- Annual performance bonus for people who show up and make it work
- All materials and expenses always reimbursed — you're never out of pocket
Estimated hours: ~10–13 hrs/month, up to 16 in busy months.
Requirements
- Lives in Canmore, Banff, or the Bow Valley
- Reliable smartphone with Slack, WhatsApp, and camera
- Responds to messages in a timely fashion
- Punctual, detail-oriented, and organized
- Able to follow checklists and instructions
- Keeps receipts and communicates professionally
