The Estimator will be responsible for preparing accurate repair estimates for heavy-duty truck and equipment repairs, coordinating with customers, insurance representatives, and internal departments to ensure efficient and transparent repair processes. This role requires strong technical knowledge, attention to detail, and excellent communication skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Inspect vehicles and assess damage to prepare detailed and accurate repair estimates.
- Determine labor, materials, and parts required for paint and body repair work.
- Communicate with customers, insurance adjusters, and production teams regarding estimates, approvals, and timelines.
- Review repair orders to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Collaborate with the shop manager and technicians to ensure proper repair procedures and cost efficiency.
- Maintain documentation for all estimates, supplements, and communications.
- Monitor repair progress and update estimates as needed.
- Provide exceptional customer service and uphold company standards for professionalism and quality.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 2–3 years of experience as an estimator in an automotive or heavy-duty collision environment.
- Strong understanding of repair processes, paint procedures, and parts replacement.
- Experience with estimating software (e.g., Mitchell, or similar) preferred.
- Knowledge of insurance procedures and claim handling.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to read technical documents and assess structural and cosmetic damage.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
