Job Overview:
Responsible for supporting the Test Kitchen and Product Development team with ingredient and material organization, sample preparation, and maintaining cleanliness of the Test Kitchen. The incumbent will also assist with basic dough and icing preparation, inventory organization, and general support for product development activities.
Key Responsibilities:
Maintain Test Kitchen organization and cleanliness
- Maintain cleanliness of the working stations and ensure the Test Kitchen is properly organized and ready for use
- Wash and clean kitchen tools, utensils, and work areas
- Ensure materials and supplies are stored properly
Collect and organize raw materials and packaging materials
- Collect raw materials from plant/production facilities for Test Kitchen use
- Keep inventory of raw and packaging materials
- Assist with organizing ingredients and supplies for ongoing projects
Support sample preparation and product set-up
- Assist Product Developers with preparing product samples
- Help scale ingredients and prepare materials for internal trials and evaluations
- Support packaging and set-up of finished samples
Assist with dough and icing preparation
- Support basic dough mixing, icing preparation, and related bench work under the direction of the Senior Product Developer
- Assist with weighing ingredients and preparing small kitchen batches for lab trials
The Recipe for Success:
- Completion of a high school diploma or currently enrolled in a post-secondary program
- Previous experience in food service, manufacturing, lab, kitchen, or related environment is an asset
- Good organizational and time management skills
- Able to follow instructions and work effectively in a team environment
- Able to support multiple tasks in a fast-paced setting
- Good understanding of GMP and food allergen awareness is an asset
- Basic computer skills (MS Word, Excel, Outlook)
