Site Supervisor / Site Superintendent – Municipal Construction

Overview
We are seeking a Site Supervisor / Superintendent to lead day-to-day field operations on municipal civil and landscape construction projects in Ottawa. This role is responsible for work plan site execution, safety compliance, subcontractor coordination, layout verification, and maintaining schedule performance in alignment with project requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and supervise all on-site construction activities daily
- Enforce site safety in accordance with COR Certification requirements for all personnel, subcontractors, and deliveries
- Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, and internal crews to maintain workflow efficiency
- Perform construction layout, surveying, and field measurements, including:
- Preliminary control shots of monuments and site boundaries
- Benchmark verification and site localization
- Grade, elevation, and layout validation throughout construction
- Communicate daily with Project Manager regarding progress, issues, and field conditions
- Identify and resolve discrepancies in drawings, specifications, and field conditions
- Maintain daily logs, including labour, equipment, quantities, and work completed
- Track project progress and maintain weekly look-ahead schedules
- Assist with updating project schedules and coordinating daily workforce activities
- Ensure quality control and workmanship standards are met
- Maintain site organization, cleanliness, and efficiency
Qualifications
- 5+ years experience preferable in site supervision (municipal, civil, or landscape construction preferred)
- Strong understanding of construction sequencing, site coordination and work forecasting
- Experience with construction layout and surveying equipment (GPS, total station, laser levels)
- Working knowledge of drawings, grades, and field verification
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Valid driver’s license and ability to work in Ottawa
Pay: $70,000.00-$99,000.00 per year
