Job Summary
Ascendant is a global provider of international business to business payment solutions based in Canada with operations in US and UK. We are searching for a Senior Revenue Analyst to join the Finance team to support revenue analysis within the Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) function. This position offers the opportunity to partner cross-functionally with Sales and senior leadership, contribute to strategic decision-making, and enhance reporting and analytics capabilities in a fast-paced, multinational environment. The role is based in Toronto and is required to be in office 4 days week.
Responsibilities
- Analyze revenue trends of clients and industry segments. Provide meaningful insights into their activity, transactions, spread rates and volume.
- Develop, enhance and analyze the customer profitability report(s) and present the insights to management on a timely basis.
- Conduct pricing, cost, and margin analysis to identify risks and opportunities.
- Develop and maintain reporting packages for the sales teams’ meetings.
- Develop and maintain various operating and financial metrics for regular reporting.
- Proactively identify and communicate revenue growth and margin optimization opportunities to senior leadership
- Analyze new client and product proposals.
- Partner with the sales teams to understand the reasons behind unusual revenue / profit trends.
- Act as the Power BI and SQL Query expert to craft and optimize complex queries, leveraging advanced analytical tools to identify opportunities for process improvements.
- Support FP&A with insights that influence forecasting
- Leverage various AI tools to optimize processes, increase productivity, and support day-to-day operational functions.
- Work with senior management for any ad-hoc requests and special projects.
Skills
- University degree in accounting, finance or related field
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in FP&A, preferably in the financial services industry.
- Strong organizational skills, experience in meeting deadlines with multiple deliverables and working with cross functional teams.
- In-depth knowledge of Power BI and SQL with proven Power BI report writing skills
- Strong background in financial modelling (advanced Microsoft Excel skills)
- Strong analytical, problem solving and decision-making skills
- Leverage AI-enabled tools and automation to enhance data analysis, reporting efficiency, and decision support.
- Self-starter with ability to multi-task and execute with precision; strong attention to detail and follow through; ability to manage multiple priorities

Pay: $70,000.00-$85,000.00 per year
