Neighbourhood Dance Works
Neighbourhood Dance Works (NDW) is seeking three motivated, detail-oriented, and community-minded young people for 9-week summer positions supporting festival production, communications, and site-based performance programming. These roles provide hands-on experience in professional arts administration, event production, and public engagement within a contemporary dance festival context.
All positions are supported through the Canada Summer Jobs program.

Applicants must:
- Be between 15 and 30 years of age at the start of employment
- Be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person with refugee protection status
- Be legally entitled to work in Canada
Job Description
Supports NDW’s communications strategy, audience engagement, and community visibility across digital and print platforms.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with ticketing and promotional campaigns
- Support sponsorship and community outreach initiatives
- Draft and distribute media releases and promotional content
- Update website content and event listings
- Assist with social media planning, scheduling, and engagement
- Track communications and audience engagement data
- Support general marketing and communications administration
Skills, Qualifications & Assets
Required Skills
- Strong written communication skills
- Familiarity with social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, etc.)
- Basic digital literacy (Google Workspace and/or CMS tools an asset)
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
- Interest in communications, storytelling, or arts promotion
Assets
- Experience creating digital content or managing social media accounts
- Basic design skills (e.g., Canva or Adobe Suite)
- Experience in outreach, customer service, or public-facing roles
- Interest in performing arts, culture, or community engagement
