What You Will Be Doing as a Product Manager:
Provide product management, regulatory awareness and compliance, product and application support, and sales assistance for the company. Work with and participate in the divisional project team development of new products needed for the Canadian marketplace.
Will maintain a liaison with Internal and External customers to launch new products and/or specific programs. To oversee the preparation of marketing/sales support material and technical literature.
Lead and facilitate product management meetings to ensure strategic compliance and introduction of projects.
Present product features and benefits to internal and external customers.
Maintain competitive information files: catalogues, literature, product samples, pricing, company information, field sales anecdotes, etc.
Liaison / participate with Air and Water division product teams to support the development and introduction of new products for the Canadian market according to the Product Development process.
Remain current with new product introductions. Develop and conduct product programs for internal and external customers
Conduct voice of customer forums, market studies and prepare business cases to support new product development or enhance existing products.
Find new product opportunities for the company. Research new markets and products and prepare business cases.
Design, maintain and update technical literature, product bulletins, use C care manuals, etc. Determine new literature requirements as needed for the marketplace.
Ensure regulatory bilingual compliance of product labelling, technical and marketing documents Participate in industry and customer trade shows in conjunction with the sales team: set-up, coordination and product demonstrations.
Maintain awareness of product Codes and Standards and provide updates to field sales and internal C external customers.
Work directly with Canadian customers and division staff in the root cause identification and resolution of product evaluations as required.
Work with US project managers to define Canadian requirements and add to Model Variant Spreadsheets (MVS).
Prepare and submit Engineering Change requests (EC) for product changes in accordance with the PDP process as required.
Complete Pilot C First Piece approvals as necessary for new product introductions
Provide bills of material C support to ensure completeness C accuracy of First off approvals/inspections.
May assist the Technical Service Manager with technical support and product training for internal and external customers.
Identify service part requirements.
Review ECs that impact product being supplied into the Canadian market to ensure compliance to both unique Canadian customer requirements and appropriate codes and standards.
Maintain essential item masters, drawings and bills of material required to sustain ongoing Canadian operations (service part assemblies, commercial wiring, tankless conversions, etc)
Support division RCD with local code representation/meetings, issues / regulatory approvals, field test programs and installation site visits
Other assigned duties as deemed necessary
What You Should Have, as a Product Manager:
Minimum 5 years in a product management or marketing position or equivalent degree or diploma
Minimum 5 years actively using analytical and critical thinking skills in an administrative capacity, including a working knowledge of administration and clerical procedures (i.e., files, electronic files and records management) and equipment
Ideally, an Engineering Degree, Technical Diploma, or equivalent related experience
Professional Engineers Ontario designation or eligibility would be an asset but not required
Requires a technical aptitude
Requires advanced organizational and time management skills in fast-paced, multi- faceted professional environment with ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks
Ability to understand and restructure data into presentable formats which may include multimedia and graphic elements
Advanced reading, business writing, proofreading, and computation skills
Capable of self-direction with task-completion orientation in a multi-task, deadline- oriented environment. Ability to create, compose, and edit written materials
Capable of developing and maintaining positive relationships with all levels of sales and marketing personnel across the enterprise
Customer-focus attitude with good listening skills and attention to detail in follow-up practices
Requires well-developed telephone skills, maintaining a professional image and communications skills
Criteria such as adaptability, versatility and dependability are key
Must be a team player
Proficiency with personal computers and advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook
Experience with ORACLE system would be an asset
Excellent communication and organizational skills
Ability to write and speak clearly and communicate with management, employees and customers as required
Bilingualism (French/English) an asset but not required
