About Us
Peak Dental Arts is a busy dental practice with two locations in North Vancouver. We focus on good patient care and a friendly, professional team. We look out for our patients and for each other.
Position Overview
We're looking for a reliable, motivated Clinical Manager / Lead CDA to join our leadership team. It's a mix of chairside clinical work and team leadership, with real responsibility and room to grow.
The Clinical Manager runs the clinical side of both locations: making sure systems are followed, clinical days go smoothly, and projects get finished. You'll lead the CDAs and hygienists, support the doctors directly (including the owner), and own on-call weekend coverage and day-to-day problem-solving.
Key Responsibilities
Clinical Support & Flow
- Provide chairside support for general, cosmetic, and Invisalign procedures
- Audit clinical systems (checkout and booking) to keep them consistent and accurate across both locations
- Keep clinical checklists in place and followed across assistants, hygienists, and doctors
- Spot gaps, retrain staff where needed, and give feedback on the spot
- Keep the owner's clinical days running smoothly: anticipate needs, watch chair flow, and step in when needed
- Troubleshoot clinical issues for associates to keep the day moving
Leadership & Training
- Train and mentor CDAs, including sterile surgical setup and implant surgical setup as more associates start placing implants
- Work with hygienists to keep them on system and on checklist
- Set the standard for the team on accountability, teamwork, and quality of care
- Build reliable, respectful relationships with clinical staff and outside dental labs, and hold them accountable
- Manage the CDA schedule, including sick calls and time-off requests
Inventory & Materials
- Order all clinical supplies for both locations and stay within budget
- Track usage, plan ahead, and prevent shortages or overspending
- Help build and run an organized inventory system
On-Call & Weekend Coverage
- Own on-call weekend coverage: confirm staff attendance, arrange temporary coverage when someone is out, and step in to cover shifts yourself when there's no other option
- Be available to work weekends as needed for sick-call coverage
Collaboration & Communication
- Work with the Office Manager and leadership team to keep clinical operations lined up with practice goals
- Act as the link between doctors, hygienists, CDAs, and front desk staff
- Give leadership regular updates on audits, inventory, and staffing
- Help out at the front desk when needed
Qualifications
- Certified Dental Assistant (CDA) in good standing in Canada
- At least 2 years of clinical experience as a CDA
- Prior leadership or lead-CDA experience an asset
- Experience with iTero, Invisalign, Curve, and CEREC (CEREC experience an asset, or willingness to learn required)
- Basic front desk knowledge an asset
- Able to juggle priorities and switch tasks quickly
- Reliable, motivated, and open to learning
- Strong communication and teamwork
Schedule
- Full-time, 40 hours per week
- Weekend flexibility required for on-call and sick-call coverage
Benefits
- Competitive hourly wage, $40+ based on experience
- Extended health and dental care
- Vision care and life insurance
- Paid time off
- CE allowance for continuing education
