The Role: We're looking for a driven, detail-oriented Safety Coordinator to support safety, fleet, and compliance across our national operations. Reporting to Safety Leaders in the regions we operate, you'll be the hands-on engine behind our HSSE programs — working closely with field teams, project coordinators, and subcontractors to build a safety culture that's practical, not just procedural. This is a role for someone who wants to own their responsibilities and grow with them: while you'll be supported by regional safety leadership, we're looking for someone who takes initiative and will help shape this position as the business scales. Fleet coordination is part of the mandate, alongside support for compliance and process consistency across our national footprint.
What You'll Do:
HSSE
- Support the implementation and continuous improvement of Signature Site's HSSE programs, policies, and procedures
- Assist in COR / ISO certification and ongoing maintenance across operating regions
- Help ensure compliance with applicable provincial OHS legislation across Canada
- Conduct and support site audits, inspections, and incident investigations
- Deliver safety orientations and field training for employees and subcontractors
- Maintain HSSE documentation, reporting, and KPI tracking
- Support client HSSE prequalification platforms (ISNetworld, Avetta, ComplyWorks, etc.)
Fleet
- Coordinate the national fleet program — maintenance schedules, inspections, licensing, and compliance
- Help maintain and apply fleet safety policies, including driver standards, vehicle use, and incident protocols
- Coordinate with operations and field teams on vehicle deployment and availability
Operational Support
- Support quality and consistency standards across field delivery
- Help identify process gaps and contribute to improvement initiatives
What You Bring:
- 2–4 years of HSSE or safety coordination experience, ideally in field services, construction, or facilities maintenance
- Exposure to commercial fleet coordination (safety and/or operations) is an asset
- Working knowledge of the Ontario OHS Act and regulations; multi-provincial experience is a strong asset
- Familiarity with petroleum, retail, or contractor environments
- Strong presentation skills — confident hosting Tool Box Talks and delivering safety messaging to field teams and subcontractors
- Experience supporting COR certification, ISO, or equivalent safety management systems
- Familiarity with third-party safety prequalification platforms
- Strong communicator — equally comfortable in a boardroom and on a job site
- Self-starter who takes ownership and can build structure with limited oversight
