Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and experienced Truck Driver to join our transportation team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for safely operating commercial vehicles to transport freight and goods across various routes. This role requires a strong focus on safety, efficiency, and professionalism to ensure timely deliveries and maintain excellent customer service.
Duties
- Operate commercial trucks to transport freight and cargo over long or short distances.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance with regulations.
- Load and unload freight using forklifts or other heavy equipment when necessary.
- Secure cargo properly to prevent damage during transit.
- Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, deliveries, and vehicle maintenance records.
- Perform basic automotive repairs or troubleshooting as needed to keep vehicles in optimal condition.
- Follow all traffic laws, safety regulations, and company policies during operations.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers, clients, and team members regarding delivery schedules and issues.
Skills
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with a clean driving record.
- Experience with freight transportation and heavy equipment operation.
- Ability to operate forklifts and other heavy machinery safely.
- Knowledge of automotive repair basics for troubleshooting minor vehicle issues.
- Strong understanding of safety protocols and traffic laws.
- Excellent time management skills to ensure punctual deliveries.
- Good communication skills for coordinating with team members and clients.
