Inventory Control / Production Support Specialist

Due to sustained growth, we are currently looking for a Inventory Control/Production Support Specialist to join our growing team:
Key Responsibilities
- Pick and prepare materials from inventory to support production and project requirements.
- Return unused materials and components to inventory while maintaining accurate inventory records.
- Receive, inspect, organize, and store incoming materials in designated locations.
- Allocate materials to production orders and projects, recording all inventory transactions accurately.
- Identify and assign excess materials for future projects or appropriate storage.
- Sort, identify, and manage scrap materials to maximize recycling and material recovery.
- Operate metal cutting equipment, including band saws and other cutting equipment, to prepare flat bar, tubing, round bar, and other steel materials to required specifications.
- Safely move and handle steel materials using appropriate lifting equipment and established safe work practices.
- Participate in cycle counts and physical inventory counts to maintain inventory accuracy.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in accordance with company standards.
- Collaborate with Purchasing, Production, and Project teams to ensure materials are available when required.
- Follow all company policies, procedures, and health and safety requirements.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in inventory control, warehouse operations, material handling, or a related manufacturing role is preferred.
- Experience working with steel products or in a manufacturing environment is considered an asset.
- Experience operating metal cutting equipment, or the ability and willingness to learn.
- Basic understanding of inventory management systems and material tracking processes.
- Ability to read and interpret work orders, material lists, and production documentation.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills.
- Forklift certification is an asset, or willingness to obtain certification.
- Ability to regularly lift and move materials weighing up to 50 lbs (23 kg). Heavier materials are moved using appropriate mechanical lifting equipment.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and perform repetitive physical tasks throughout the workday.
· Computer proficient, especially with Microsoft office and Excel.
Pay: From $20.00 per hour
