PBN Construction is a growing civil earthworks and construction company committed to safety, quality, and operational excellence. We are seeking a skilled and motivated Heavy Duty Mechanic to join our team and help maintain our fleet of heavy equipment and support our field operations.
Position Summary
The Heavy Duty Mechanic is responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of heavy equipment, trucks, and construction machinery. This role plays a critical part in ensuring equipment reliability, minimizing downtime, and supporting safe and efficient project execution.
Working Monday - Friday ( some weekends) at our office on Highway 12 between Saskatoon and Martensville.
Responsibilities
- Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on heavy-duty construction equipment, trucks, trailers, and support vehicles.
- Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and pneumatic issues using appropriate testing equipment and procedures.
- Complete repairs on engines, transmissions, drivetrains, brakes, steering, suspension, and hydraulic systems.
- Conduct equipment inspections and identify potential maintenance concerns.
- Respond to field service calls and perform on-site repairs when required.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records, inspection reports, and work orders.
- Ensure all repairs are completed safely and in accordance with manufacturer specifications.
- Keep work areas clean, organized, and compliant with company safety standards.
- Work collaboratively with operations personnel to prioritize equipment repairs and maintenance schedules.
- Assist with equipment commissioning, decommissioning, and seasonal maintenance activities.
- Participate in safety meetings and contribute to a positive safety culture.
Qualifications
- Journeyperson Heavy Duty Equipment Technician certification preferred.
- Relevant apprenticeship experience will be considered.
- Experience working on construction and earthworks equipment such as excavators, dozers, graders, loaders, packers, skid steers, and gravel trucks.
- Strong understanding of hydraulic, electrical, and diesel engine systems.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and diagnostic information.
- Valid Class 5 driver's license required; Class 1A considered an asset.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Pay: $50.00-$58.00 per hour
