We are seeking a Siteworks Supervisor to lead daily field operations on multiple sites simultaneously with a strong focus on safety, accuracy, and efficient project delivery.
Position Summary
The Siteworks Supervisor oversees all on‑site civil and site‑related activities, including excavation, grading, servicing, concrete preparation, surveying, and layout. This role ensures work is completed safely, on schedule, and to specification while maintaining clear communication with project managers, trades, and clients. Monitoring of budget objectives and progress will also be a critical part of this role.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate daily site works including excavation, grading, backfilling, drainage, utilities, and concrete preparation.
- Perform surveying and layout, including establishing control points, setting grades, verifying elevations, and ensuring accuracy against drawings.
- Read and interpret civil drawings, site plans, grading plans, and construction details.
- Plan daily tasks, manpower, and equipment needs to maintain productivity and schedule.
- Conduct site inspections to ensure quality control, safety compliance, and adherence to project specifications.
- Coordinate deliveries, equipment, and subcontractors to maintain efficient workflow.
- Maintain site documentation including daily logs, safety reports, and progress updates.
- Identify issues proactively and work with the project manager to resolve conflicts or delays.
- Monitor Division 2 project budgets in coordination with the Project Manager on all projects under supervision.
- Ensure all work meets municipal, engineering, and environmental requirements.
- Lead toolbox talks and enforce company safety policies and procedures.
- Represent the company professionally when interacting with clients, inspectors, and consultants.
Qualifications
- 3–5+ years of experience in site works, surveying, civil construction, civil inspections or related technical / supervisory roles.
- Strong understanding of methods and materials and equipment used in excavation, grading, servicing, and site preparation.
- Ability to read and interpret civil/structural drawings, grading plans, and layouts (architectural and structural plans).
- Hands‑on experience with Total Stations, GPS layout tools, and laser levels, including experience with AutoCAD to set up layouts within the Total Station.
- Ability to perform accurate layout, establish control points, verify elevations, and maintain survey records.
- Experience operating or directing heavy equipment is an asset.
- Valid driver’s licence and reliable transportation.
- Strong communication, leadership, and problem‑solving skills.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Knowledge of Ontario construction safety standards (OHSA).
- Certifications such as WHMIS, Working at Heights, or First Aid are an asset.
