We are looking for a highly organized and proactive Driver Recruitment, Training & Compliance Coordinator to join our growing transportation team. This role is responsible for managing the complete driver cycle, from recruiting and onboarding to ongoing training, compliance, and performance management.The ideal candidate has experience in the transportation industry, understands provincial and federal trucking regulations, and is passionate about building a safe, professional, and compliant fleet.
Key ResponsibilitiesRecruiting & Onboarding
- Post, manage, and refresh job advertisements for company drivers and owner operators across multiple recruiting platforms.
- Review, screen, and qualify applications based on company hiring requirements.
- Manage candidates throughout the recruitment process, from initial application to hiring.
- Conduct phone and in-person interviews.
- Verify driver qualifications, including:
- CVOR
- Driver Abstract
- PSP Reports
- FMCSA Clearinghouse (Pre-Employment Screening)
- References
- Coordinate onboarding schedules based on driver availability.
- Prepare employment agreements, onboarding documents, and policy acknowledgements.
- Schedule and monitor completion of required online training.
- Create and organize physical and digital driver files, including driver binders, vehicle documentation, ELD information, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Set up driver profiles in the Transportation Management System (TMS), Samsara ELD, and SharePoint.
- Coordinate road tests with the Safety Manager or insurance provider.
Driver Training & Development
- Deliver onboarding training covering:
- Company Safety Policies
- Electronic Logging Devices (ELDs)
- Hours of Service
- Weights and Dimensions
- Cargo Securement
- Company procedures and customer-specific requirements
- Identify fleet training needs and develop ongoing training programs.
- Coordinate training through insurance providers, Carrier's Edge, online learning platforms, and in-person sessions.
- Develop corrective action training following incidents, inspections, violations, or customer feedback.
- Assist in planning and presenting Driver Safety Meetings throughout the year.
- Conduct random driver and vehicle compliance inspections.
- Provide customer-specific SOP training and attend customer safety meetings when required.
Driver Compliance & Safety
- Review driver CVORs and Abstracts every 90 days to identify unreported incidents or violations.
- Verify driver licence status every 30 days using Ver-X.
- Maintain current driver credentials, including:
- Driver's Licence
- Medical Certificates
- Passport
- FAST Card
- Other required certifications
- Review driver performance following incidents and determine appropriate corrective actions.
- Prepare and maintain documentation related to:
- Driver incidents
- Inspections
- Citations
- Hours of Service compliance
- DVIR accuracy
- Regulatory compliance
Qualifications
- Minimum 2–3 years of experience in transportation safety, recruiting, driver compliance, or fleet administration.
- Strong knowledge of Ontario and North American transportation regulations.
- Experience with driver recruiting and onboarding processes.
- Familiarity with CVOR, Driver Abstracts, PSP Reports, FMCSA Clearinghouse, Ver-X, and transportation compliance requirements.
- Experience using transportation software such as Samsara, TMS platforms, Microsoft SharePoint, and Microsoft Office.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and time-management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail with excellent documentation and record-keeping skills.
- Professional, confident, and comfortable delivering training and conducting interviews.
- Valid driver's licence.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience delivering driver training programs.
- Knowledge of Carrier's Edge or other transportation learning management systems.
- Experience working with insurance companies and regulatory audits.
- Background in fleet safety or transportation operations.
Pay: $70,000.00-$80,000.00 per year
