Outreach/Housing Support Worker – Mitchener Village Supportive Housing
Centre for Youth Care Inc. is seeking an Outreach/Housing Support Worker to join the team at Mitchener Village, a nine-bed supportive housing program serving youth ages 19–25. This position provides trauma-informed, harm reduction, and Housing First-based support to youth as they work toward maintaining safe, stable, and successful housing.The Outreach/Housing Support Worker will provide onsite support, complete regular check-ins with residents, respond to emerging needs and crises, and help connect youth with community resources and services. Staff will support youth in navigating challenges, developing independent living and tenancy skills, and strengthening their overall housing stability.
The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of person-centred, non-judgmental approaches and be committed to creating a safe, respectful, and supportive environment where youth feel valued and empowered. This role requires the ability to build trusting relationships, support youth through difficult moments, and provide flexible outreach support in the community as needed. Key responsibilities include:
- Providing trauma-informed, harm reduction, and Housing First-based support to youth residents
- Completing regular check-ins and maintaining consistent, supportive relationships with youth
- Responding to crises and providing de-escalation and emotional support when needed
- Connecting youth with appropriate community resources, services, and supports
- Supporting youth in developing tenancy, life, and independent living skills
- Promoting safety, dignity, choice, and empowerment in all interactions
- Providing outreach support in the community as required

Pay: From $26.00 per hour
