Job Summary
Big City Restaurant LLC is a high-volume, full-service restaurant known for consistent food, fast service, and a team that actually likes working together. We are not a corporate chain. We are a busy, independent restaurant looking for a Restaurant Manager who can run shifts, lead a team, and keep customers coming back. You will be on the floor, not in an office.
Duties
- Open or close the restaurant 4-5 shifts per week
- Ensure service runs smoothly during peak hours
- Handle customer complaints with professionalism and tact
- Supervise front-of-house staff (servers, hosts, bussers)
- Assist with training new hires on service standards and POS systems
- Conduct pre-shift meetings to communicate daily specials and priorities
- Monitor inventory of front-of-house supplies (napkins, takeout containers, cleaning products)
- Coordinate with kitchen manager on timing and ticket flow
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations
- Review daily sales reports and cash outs
- Assist with staff scheduling (time-off requests, shift coverage)
- Report maintenance issues to ownership
Requirements
- 3-5 years of restaurant experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or management role
- Strong knowledge of front-of-house operations (service standards, POS, cash handling)
- Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays (non-negotiable)
- Valid food safety certification (or willingness to obtain within 30 days)
- Smart Serve or equivalent alcohol service certification
- Ability to stand and walk for 8+ hours per shift
- Legal authorization to work in Canada
- Reside within commuting distance of the restaurant
Pay: $65,000.00-$77,000.00 per year
