Major Areas of Responsibility
- Drywall hanging, mudding and taping
- Painting
- Fit and install trim items, such as doors, stairs, moulding and hardware
- Maintain, repair and renovate residences and other establishments
- Flooring as needed
- Interpret blueprints, drawings and sketches to determine specifications and calculate requirements
Established Construction Company seeking skilled trades to manage and complete a variety of finishing and restoration tasks on multiple sites.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- The ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- The ability to supervise and direct one or two helpers.
- A valid BC driver’s license.
- Knowledge of finishing carpentry, trim/baseboard, drywall, basic framing, caulking/filling, and paint.
- Basic personal finishing tools. Specialized tools and equipment will be supplied.
- Willing to learn and demonstrate practices and procedures from both supervisors and online sources and continually upgrade skills.
- Safe use of hand and power tools & practice safe work procedures and protocols
- Follow safe work procedures and protocols
- Physically fit – can stand or kneel for extended periods of time
- Able to repeatedly lift to 25-pounds (about 11 kilograms) throughout the shift
- Troubleshooting skills and creativity
- Maintain a safe work environment
- Comply with company tool management systems
- Possess basic PPE (Steel toes, hard hat, glasses, gloves etc.)
