Our client, a leading food manufacturing company, is looking to bring on board a hands on, continuous improvement oriented Director of Operations for their facility in the GTA.

What we are looking for you to do:
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement best practices across all departments.
- Develop and implement operational strategies that drive business growth and enhance productivity.
- Implement new policies and procedures.
- Entrepreneurial experience in terms of building from the ground up.
- Ensure compliance with Health & Safety, Quality and Manufacturing regulations. Champion a H&S culture.
- Ensure that production meets and exceeds standards for food safety, cost, quality, productivity, and customer service.
- Ensure that plant efficiency is maintained at the highest possible level without sacrificing safety, quality and plant standards.
- Assist in the development of operational and capital budgets, policies and procedures.
- Oversee project management initiatives, ensuring projects are completed on time and within scope.
- Negotiate contracts and agreements with vendors, suppliers, and partners to optimize resources.
- Review, maintain, control and implement corrective actions.
- Facilitate and implement lean principles across all aspects of manufacturing.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement by encouraging team development and innovation.
- Continually coach, direct and train employees utilizing lean principles.
- Ensure all departments are running efficiently, from logistics, production, quality, health and safety, maintenance, sanitation, procurement, finance, HR, and CI.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess operational performance and make data-driven decisions.
The ideal candidate will have:
- 10+ years of operations/ plant management experience required.
- 8+ years of high risk food manufacturing experience required.
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or a combination of education and relevant work experience.
- CI- Lean Six Sigma Certification.
- Must have experience developing policies and procedures for a plant 200+ employees.
- Must be able to work in a cold environment.
- Be able to travel between locations.

Pay: $140,000.00-$160,000.00 per year
