TRADES FOREPERSON - MECHANICAL
The Burnaby School District is recruiting for a FULL-TIME Trades Foreperson - Mechanical.
The Trades Foreperson – Mechanical oversees the HVAC and Plumbing teams and performs a variety of related technical duties. This role is responsible for planning and prioritizing the maintenance, repair, and renovation of district facilities to ensure safety, proper functioning, and optimal energy efficiency through effective scheduling of HVAC and utility systems. The position also supports and supervises hardware and software modifications to building control systems.
Required Qualifications & Experience:
- Completion of Grade 12
- British Columbia Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning certification and Gas A or B ticket

Six years related work experience, after completion of the TQ (when TQ is conferred)

Extensive knowledge of related trades, DDC software, and demonstrated ability to coordinate trades work; oversees all facets of HVAC and plumbing operations to district facilities

Valid B.C. Driver's License (Class 5)
- Demonstrated ability to supervise and/or experience supervising trades in a unionized work environment

Thorough knowledge of computer operation and software applications related to work performed

Thorough knowledge of current techniques, methods, procedures and equipment applicable to HVAC trade, plus computerized control software applications and equipment is required
We are looking for a self-starter with an ability to organize daily tasks, work independently and as a member of a team. Demonstrated ability to work at the level of independence and with the degree of initiative appropriate to the position is also required.
To be successful, the Trades Foreperson must be highly organized, computer savvy, able to manage multiple competing deadlines, and prepared to respond to time-sensitive emergencies.
This position pays $102,190 gross/year ($49.13 per hour); complemented by a comprehensive benefits package which includes:
