Job Summary
We are seeking a professional and organized Dental Receptionist to join our dental practice. The ideal candidate will serve as the first point of contact for patients, managing appointment scheduling, patient check-in and check-out, and administrative tasks. This role requires excellent communication skills, proficiency in dental office software, and a friendly demeanor to ensure a positive patient experience. Prior dental experience is preferred to effectively handle the responsibilities of this position.
Responsibilities
- Greet patients warmly and efficiently manage patient check-in and check-out processes
- Schedule, confirm, and reschedule appointments using dental practice management software (We use Power Practice)
- Answer multi-line phone systems promptly and professionally, directing calls as needed
- Manage patient records accurately within electronic medical records systems
- Verify insurance information and assist with billing inquiries
- Collect payments and explain treatment plans to patients
- Maintain a clean and organized front desk area
- Assist with administrative tasks including filing, data entry, and correspondence
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintain patient confidentiality at all times
Skills
- Proven experience as a Dental Receptionist is a MUST
- Proficiency with dental practice management software (We use Power Practice)
- Strong knowledge of dental terminology and electronic medical records management
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to handle multi-line phone systems efficiently under pressure
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
