Main Purpose of the Job:
As Meat Clerk, you will be responsible to provide quality and detail for the Meat department within the grocery store. In collaboration with the Meat Manager, you will manage the display of all cuts of meat in our showcases and sustain proper inventory and pricing. You will also ensure all products are always fresh and adhere to the highest standards for quality.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Greet customers and provide excellent customer service.
- Basic knife handling skills
- Stuff, twist, cut and package sausages for sale to create beef patty’s and skewer kabob meat
- Receive, store, prepare and package meats for sale.
- Maintain a safe and clean work area
- Keep both service and self service counters stocked and faced
- Clean department in accordance with government health and safety standards as well as within our own company cleanliness standards.
- Ensuring that tools, utensils, equipment and meat counter are properly cleaned and sanitized on a daily (or more frequent as may be required) basis.
- In collaboration with senior management, helping develop and implement advertising and marketing strategies to attract new customers.
- Strategically arranging items in display cases to encourage customer purchases.
- Inspecting items to ensure that established standards on quality, uniformity, and aesthetic appeal are met.
- Resolving customer complaints in a professional manner.
- Other duties commensurate with this position as communicated by Management from time-to-time.
Working Conditions:
Must be required to lift up to 50 lbs
May be required to stand for long periods of time
Pay: $19.00-$20.00 per hour

Experience:
- Meat Clerk or Butcher: 1 year (preferred)
