At Carlington CHC, we believe that everyone deserves access to compassionate care and support. We’re looking for volunteers who want to make a meaningful difference in the lives of people in our community — including those who experience barriers such as poverty, homelessness, mental health challenges, or substance use.
As a Volunteer, you’ll contribute to programs and initiatives that promote health, inclusion, and empowerment for individuals and families across our diverse community.
Minimum Qualifications:

Must be at least 16 years of age or older.

Ability to communicate effectively in English.

Willingness to commit to a regular volunteer schedule.

Basic understanding of community service and volunteerism.

Ability to follow instructions and work collaboratively in a team environment.
Preferred Qualifications:

Previous volunteer experience in community or nonprofit settings.

Additional language skills relevant to the local community.

Familiarity with basic computer applications such as email and word processing.

Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.

Ability to adapt to various tasks and work independently when required.
Responsibilities:

Assist with the planning, setup, coordination, and cleanup of community events, programs, and activities.

Support staff and fellow volunteers with day-to-day program and operational tasks.

Welcome and engage with community members by providing information, guidance, and assistance as needed.

Provide administrative support including data entry, filing, organizing materials, and preparing program resources.

Participate in orientation, training sessions, and team meetings to remain informed about organizational initiatives and goals.

Support community outreach and health promotion activities, such as education sessions, wellness initiatives, and food programs.

Assist with youth, family, and peer support programs in a respectful and inclusive manner.

Contribute to community-based initiatives that promote health equity, inclusion, and social justice.
