We are now hiring for the position of a Building Maintenance Technician.
Job Duties & Responsibilities
- Assist in repairing, maintaining, and installing assemblies, machinery and equipment, refrigeration, heating and air conditioning equipment
- Replace light elements and perform other minor electrical repair work; assist in repairing electrical appliances or other similar equipment
- Check and inspect fire extinguishers and hoses
- Perform minor plumbing repairs or unplugging
- Clean and maintain sidewalks, roads, and public grounds of assigned site and other areas, working as member of the crew; weep debris and shovel snow from sidewalks, steps, building grounds and other areas; move snow and debris with appropriate equipment; spread sand or salt on sidewalks for snow and ice control.
- Assist in routine maintenance and repair of equipment; assist skilled trades persons such as plumbers and electricians
- Test systems for operation
- Clean and maintain equipment; clean and lubricate assigned equipment and perform other routine equipment maintenance duties using appropriate lubricants and hand, power and precision tools.
- Maintain a daily log of operation, maintenance, and safety activities; write report about plant operation.
- Assist in the development of operation, maintenance, and safety procedures as requested and required; may prepare work estimates for management.
- Conduct preventive maintenance programs and keep maintenance records; enter/edits work on computerized preventative maintenance program as required
- Prioritize work as required
- Assist in recommending purchase for equipment and supplies when required
- Be available for 'On Call' requests after normal working hours.
- Perform other duties as requested
Qualifications, Physical & Other Requirements
- Building Maintenance course certification
- Two years minimum experience in similar role
- Lifting, bending, climbing
- Ability to be exposed to various types of work environments
- Use of various shop equipment and trade related hand tools
- Use of ladders or scaffolding
- Working in confined spaces
- Working with WHMIS products and materials
- Use of specialized PPE such as respirators, coveralls and safety glasses

Pay: From $52,000.00 per hour
