Overview
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Paver Operator to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical knowledge and experience operating various types of heavy machinery. This role offers an opportunity to work on diverse projects, including paving, concrete forming, and site development, contributing to the successful completion of construction projects. Applicants should be prepared to work in dynamic environments, adhering to safety standards and project specifications.
Duties
- Operate heavy equipment such as paving machines to perform site preparation, grading, and material handling
- Drive commercial vehicles for transporting materials and equipment between job sites as needed
- Perform routine maintenance checks on machinery to ensure optimal operation and safety
- Follow project plans and safety protocols during all phases of construction activities
- Support the team in setting up work zones, loading/unloading materials, and maintaining a clean work environment
- Collaborate with supervisors and team members to meet project deadlines and quality standards
Skills
- Mechanical knowledge with the ability to troubleshoot and perform minor repairs on heavy equipment
- Experience with construction site operations, including paving.
- Proficiency in operating loaders, skid steers, and other heavy machinery.
- Valid driver’s license for driving vehicles on-site or between locations
- Knowledge of safety regulations, JSHA's, toolbox talks and general safety knowledge related to heavy equipment operation and construction sites
- Ability to read technical manuals, blueprints, or project plans
- Strong teamwork skills with excellent communication abilities
- Physical stamina to operate machinery for extended periods and perform manual tasks when required
