About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Construction Project Superintendent to oversee residential and commercial construction projects. The ideal candidate must have extensive experience with wood-frame construction, be hands-on, hardworking, and capable of solving problems quickly and efficiently. Strong leadership, organization, and decision-making skills are essential for success in this role. Construction superintendents are expected to coordinate site activities, maintain schedules, ensure quality control, and lead trades on-site.
Responsibilities
- Oversee all daily construction site operations from start to completion.
- Coordinate and supervise subcontractors, trades, and laborers.
- Ensure projects are completed safely, on time, and to the highest quality standards.
- Read and interpret plans, specifications, and construction drawings.
- Identify and resolve site issues before they impact schedule or budget.
- Maintain project schedules and provide regular progress updates.
- Conduct site inspections and ensure compliance with building codes and safety regulations.
- Order and coordinate materials, equipment, and manpower requirements.
- Think outside the box to find practical solutions to construction challenges.
- Lead by example and maintain a professional, productive job site environment.
Requirements
- Minimum 5+ years of experience as a Superintendent or Site Supervisor.
- Extensive experience with wood-frame / wood-structure construction is mandatory.
- Strong understanding of construction methods, sequencing, and building practices.
- Ability to work independently and make sound decisions under pressure.
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Highly organized, responsible, and dependable.
- Strong leadership and communication abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple trades and keep projects moving efficiently.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Hands-on construction experience is considered a strong asset.
