With over 60 employees and a 28,000 square ft manufacturing facility, we have a solid foundation to be positioned for future growth, and as a result we need to strengthen our sales team to meet those goals.
Functional Responsibilities
Under the direction of the General Manager, the Production Manager is responsible for timely and efficient scheduling and execution of the shop floor production, with the aid of the Plant Supervisor, Production Coordinator and Engineers.
Principal Duties
- Work with the Operations Manager to establish priorities and required timeframes.
- Provide proactive updates and quickly address any scheduling conflicts or changes.
- Work closely with manufacturing team to identify bottlenecks and prioritize urgent jobs while maintaining efficient workflow.
- Work with engineers to troubleshoot technical and software issues from the shop floor.
- Supervise the engineering team to ensure efficient workflow and procedure compliance.
- Ensure the quality standards process is adhered to, and procedures are being followed throughout
- Reporting to the general manager, provide required reports and analysis along with recommendations for continuous improvement
- Monitor time sheets and shop floor labor for payroll and job costing purposes
- Direct responsibility for shop organization, maintenance, cleanliness and efficient workflow
- Ensure quality standards are met across all workcentres

Qualifications and Skills

- Ability to remain focused and complete tasks efficiently
- Supervisory and human resources skills required
- Must possess a sense of urgency
- Highly organized with the ability to lead people to the same principles
Experience and Education
- Engineering Degree or equivalent practical experience
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a custom manufacturing company
- Knowledge of wood products and processes an asset
- Knowledge of CAD software CNC Machining and their functions
- Management experience in mid-size firms up to 60 people
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
Position Terms
- Full-time Monday to Friday (days)
- In office at the company location this is NOT a remote position
- Must have a valid class 5 driver’s license and vehicle
- Legally permitted to work in Canada
- Speak, read and write fluent English
Salary and Benefits
- Salary is from $90,000 to $130,000 depending on qualifications
- 2 weeks’ Vacation to start
