Job Overview
We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Farm Labourer to join our swine operation located near Brussels, Ontario. The successful candidate will assist with the daily care of animals and general farm duties to support efficient and humane livestock production. The ideal candidate will be physically fit, reliable, and eager to contribute to the success of our farm operations. Experience in animal care is required, and training will be provided for the right candidate.
Duties
- Key Responsibilities
- Feed, water, and monitor swine to ensure proper health and growth
- Assist with breeding, farrowing, and piglet care
- Clean and disinfect barns, pens, and equipment
- Operate basic farm machinery and equipment as required
- Follow biosecurity and animal welfare protocols
- Perform general farm maintenance and manual labour tasks such as cleaning barns
- Identify signs of illness and report concerns to supervisors
Experience required
- Prior experience in farming is preferred
- Physical strength for heavy lifting and stamina for indoor and outdoor work in various weather conditions
- A strong work ethic, reliability, and willingness to learn are essential qualities for success in this role
- Work in rural area requiring personal transportation 6 days per week in all weather conditions
- Basic level of swine care knowledge
- Standing and walking for long periods
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting up to 50 lbs
- Willingness to work in barn environments with exposure to dust, odours, and noise
- Flexibility to work weekends or extended hours during busy periods
Pay: $17.60 per hour
