Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Kitchen Manager to oversee daily operations in a dynamic food service environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive restaurant and kitchen experience, and a passion for delivering exceptional customer service. This role requires a proactive individual capable of managing food preparation, supervising staff, ensuring food safety standards, and maintaining efficient restaurant operations. Previous experience in hospitality, food industry management, or hotel settings is highly desirable. The Kitchen Manager will play a key role in fostering a positive team environment and ensuring the highest quality of food and service.
Duties
- Oversee daily kitchen operations, including food preparation, cooking, and presentation to ensure quality standards are met.
- Supervise kitchen staff, including interviewing, hiring, training, and scheduling team members to maintain optimal staffing levels.
- Manage food handling procedures to comply with safety regulations and ensure proper storage and sanitation practices.
- Operate POS systems such as Micros POS for order processing and cash handling responsibilities.
- Monitor inventory levels, order supplies, and manage stock to prevent shortages or overstocking.
- Enforce food safety protocols and maintain cleanliness standards throughout the kitchen and dining areas.
- Lead by example in delivering excellent customer service and hospitality to guests.
- Collaborate with front-of-house staff to coordinate service flow and resolve any operational issues promptly.
- Assist with menu planning, recipe development, and cost control measures to optimize profitability.
- Maintain compliance with health regulations and industry best practices in the food industry.
Requirements
- Proven experience in restaurant management or hospitality leadership roles; supervising experience preferred.
- Strong background in food preparation, cooking, and food safety standards.
- Familiarity with POS systems such as Micros POS; cash handling experience is essential.
- Excellent team management skills with the ability to motivate staff and foster a positive work environment.
- Experience interviewing and hiring restaurant personnel.
- Knowledge of restaurant operations, including food handling, serving, and hospitality best practices.
- Previous hotel or barista experience is a plus but not required.
- Exceptional customer service skills with a focus on guest satisfaction.
- Leadership qualities with the ability to multitask effectively under pressure.
- Relevant certifications in food safety or hospitality management are advantageous.
