POSITION TITLE: QUALITY AND CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT TECHNICIAN
REPORTS TO: Production Manager
WORK SCHEDULE: Regular, Full-Time, Days, Occasional Overtime

POSITION SUMMARY: Reporting to the Production Manager, the Quality & Continuous Improvement Technician focuses on product quality, defect reduction, and process improvement within the manufacturing environment. This role works closely with production, quality, and D&D teams to identify root causes of defects, drive corrective actions, and support the implementation of Lean initiatives.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Inspect and approve sample products ensuring quality standards are met;
- Perform audit inspections across all production departments;
- Lead production related warranty claim investigations;
- Perform root cause analysis (5 whys, etc);
- Communicate findings and support corrective actions;
- Assist in analyzing manufacturing processes to identify inefficiencies, bottlenecks, and waste;
- Support continuous improvement initiatives using Lean Manufacturing methodologies;
- Collect and analyze data to track performance (e.g. time studies, scrap rate, downtime);
- Implement process improvements and monitor results;
- Create and maintain standard work instructions and process documentation;
- Implement 5S and workplace organization initiatives;
- Assist in training operators on new processes or improvements;
- Support additional production or quality initiatives as needed;
- Maintain a clean work environment;
- Adhere to all company and government legislated policies and procedures; and
- Other duties as required
QUALIFICATIONS:
- University degree or college diploma
- 1–3 years of experience in manufacturing or continuous improvement
- Understanding of Lean principles (5S, Kaizen, waste reduction)
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Experience with root cause analysis tools
- Familiarity with ERP or MES systems
- Good communication and teamwork abilities
PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT REQUIRED:
- Steel-toed shoes
- Safety glasses (provided by company)
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Primarily based on the manufacturing floor and office environment (50% of time performing inspections)
- May require standing, walking, and interacting with production equipment
- Occasional overtime depending on project needs
