Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and dependable Forklift Driver to join our warehouse team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for safely operating various types of forklifts, including clamp trucks and order pickers, to efficiently move, load, and unload goods within the distribution center. This role requires mechanical knowledge, attention to safety protocols, and the ability to perform warehouse management system (WMS) tasks related to order picking and inventory management. The Forklift Driver plays a vital role in maintaining smooth warehouse operations and ensuring timely order fulfillment.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate forklifts, including clamp trucks and order pickers, to transport materials throughout the warehouse
- Load and unload goods from trucks and storage areas with precision and care
- Assist with order picking using warehouse management system (WMS) tools to fulfill customer orders accurately
- Perform heavy lifting as needed, adhering to safety guidelines for lifting loads up to 50 pounds or more
- Conduct routine inspections of forklift equipment, perform basic troubleshooting, and report any maintenance needs
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment to promote safety and efficiency
- Collaborate with warehouse staff to coordinate movement of inventory and ensure timely processing of shipments
- Utilize basic math skills for inventory counts, measurements, and verifying quantities during operations
Requirements
- Proven experience operating forklifts, including clamp trucks and order pickers, in a warehouse or distribution setting
- Mechanical knowledge related to forklift operation and maintenance is preferred
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) for order picking and inventory control
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Basic math skills for inventory counting, measurements, and verifying orders
- Strong attention to safety procedures and protocols when operating machinery
- Valid forklift certification/license is required or must be obtained prior to employment
- Ability to work in a physically demanding environment with long periods of standing, walking, or lifting
