Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled, compassionate and dedicated Registered Nurse with 3 to 5 years of experience, to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in patient care, providing pre-operative, post-operative and aesthetic treatments to our patients.
As a Registered Nurse, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality care to patients, managing their health needs, and collaborating with other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal outcomes.
Pre-Operative Patient Management
- Conduct pre-operative phone calls to review medical history, complete surgical screening, and ensure patient eligibility and safety.
- Provide detailed patient education regarding procedure preparation, fasting guidelines, medication adjustments, and post-operative expectations.
- Identify potential clinical concerns and escalate to the surgical team as appropriate.
- Coordinate with clinic staff to ensure all pre-operative documentation and consents are complete.
Post-Operative Care & Recovery
- Perform comprehensive post-operative assessments including monitoring vitals, surgical sites, dressings, and signs of complications.
- Deliver wound care (dressing changes, incision checks) following surgeon protocols.
- Review medication plans and ensure patient understanding.
- Provide clear, empathetic patient education on post-op restrictions, follow-up care, emergency red flags, and recovery timelines.
- Document all clinical findings and interventions in accordance with regulatory and clinic standards.
Consultation Support & Clinical Collaboration
- Participate in patient consultations by shadowing the physician, assisting with note-taking, photography, and surgical planning as needed.
- Serve as a clinical liaison between patients and the surgeon, facilitating communication, answering patient questions, and reinforcing medical guidance.
- Assist with in-clinic treatments, pre-surgical measurements, garment fittings, and photography documentation.
- Maintain a consistent, patient-centered experience throughout the surgical journey.
Qualifications
- Fluent in English
- Exceptional communication skills; including reading and writing
- Strong clinical judgement, attention to detail and organization skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills and a professional, empathetic approach
- Current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO)
- ACLS or BCLS
- Experience in perioperative care, recovery room, or medical aesthetics is an asset
Schedule
- Flexible: 3 to 5 days per week
- Part-time or full-time options available
