As a Crew Member, you’re a boots-on-the-ground building and operator, supporting both our construction season and winter operations. This is a year-round position for someone who enjoys physical work, takes pride in doing things right the first time, and wants to grow in the trades.

The Basics
- Work alongside the Crew to build decks, fences, pergolas, and other outdoor structures with strong craftsmanship and attention to detail
- Support winter operations by assisting with snow removal services
- Maintain clean, organized job sites and uphold company standards for safety, professionalism, and efficiency
- Operate power tools, equipment and snow plows safely and responsibly
- Represent Ugly Decks Canada professionally on every job site and customer property.
What You’ll Be Responsible For
Construction Support & Execution
- Assist in building decks, fences, pergolas, and other outdoor structures
- Carry, measure, cut, and prepare materials accurately
- Support framing, railing installation, finishing tasks and site prep
- Assist with demolition and site prep
- Perform final site clean-up to ensure professional presentation
Snow Removal & Ice Control
- Operating snow equipment and plow trucks
- Applying de-icing products safely and responsibly
- Clearing sites according to site maps during active weather events
- Adapt to changing weather conditions and early morning or overnight work as required
Safety & Quality Standards
- Follow company safety policies and Alberta OH&S standards at all times
- Wear required PPE and report hazards immediately
- Maintain tools and equipment
- Take pride in producing clean, accurate, and durable work
Safety & Teamwork
- Maintain productivity and a positive attitude on-site
- Respect customer property and communicate clearly with crew members
- Contribute to strong crew morale and team culture
Must Haves
- Physically fit and able to lift 50+ lbs repeatedly
- Comfortable working outdoors in heat, rain, and winter conditions
- Valid driver’s license with a clean drivers abstract
- Strong work ethic and positive attitude
- Willingness to work early mornings and overtime during snow events
- Ability to follow instructions and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
Beneficial Skills
- Previous construction or landscaping experience
- Experience with snow removal or operating snow equipment
- Basic knowledge of hand and power tools
- Mechanical aptitude and the ability to perform minor repairs and maintenance on tools and equipment.
- Familiarity with the Foothills area (High River, Okotoks, Calgary region)
