Overview
We are seeking a skilled and proactive Handyman/woman to join our maintenance team. This role involves performing a wide range of repair, installation, and maintenance tasks across our facilities and manufacturing environments. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical, electrical, and troubleshooting skills, along with leadership qualities to supervise maintenance activities when needed. A background in facilities maintenance, welding, and working with schematics is highly desirable. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to the smooth operation of our facilities while utilizing your technical expertise and customer service skills.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine and preventive maintenance on machinery, equipment, and facility infrastructure
- Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and plumbing issues efficiently
- Conduct welding repairs and fabrications as required
- Read and interpret schematics, technical manuals, and wiring diagrams
- Operate programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and use Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) for work orders and documentation
- Supervise or assist with maintenance projects, ensuring safety standards are met
- Maintain accurate records of repairs, inspections, and maintenance activities
- Ensure facilities are clean, safe, and compliant with safety regulations
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing internal client needs promptly and professionally
- Lead or support team members during complex repair or installation tasks
Requirements
- Proven experience in facilities maintenance or manufacturing environments
- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to read schematics and technical drawings
- Electrical experience including troubleshooting electrical systems and working with PLCs
- Welding skills for metal repairs and fabrication projects
- Familiarity with CMMS software for managing work orders and maintenance logs
- Supervising experience is preferred to oversee maintenance activities effectively
- Knowledge of programmable logic controllers (PLCs) is a plus
- Excellent communication skills in English to coordinate tasks efficiently
- Leadership qualities with the ability to supervise or mentor team members when necessary
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
- Strong problem-solving skills with a focus on safety and quality standards
