Lead Brunch Chef
The Old York Tavern is an inclusive neighbourhood wine tavern focused on thoughtful food, genuine hospitality, and creating a welcoming space for both guests and staff.
We're looking for an experienced and dependable Lead Brunch Chef to take ownership of our weekend brunch program.
This position is ideal for someone who enjoys leading a service, takes pride in consistency, and can remain calm and organized during a busy rush.
What You'll Do:
- Lead and execute brunch service
- Open the kitchen and ensure the line is set for success
- Complete prep and maintain pars for service
- Manage ticket flow and prioritize effectively during busy periods
- Maintain food quality, consistency, cleanliness, and food safety standards
- Work closely with the Head Chef on menu execution and ongoing improvements
What We're Looking For:
- Minimum 2 years of professional cooking experience
- Experience running a line independently
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Ability to remain calm, focused, and solution-oriented under pressure
- Weekend availability is required
- Food Handler Certification required
Position Details:
- 3–4 shifts per week
- Daytime and weekend shifts
- $20–$23/hour based on experience
