Job Summary:
The Security Guard will be responsible for safeguarding the overall security of the Sioux Lookout Meno Ya Win Health Centre, its staff, patients, visitors and property whilst also providing effective reception, security and emergency response services.
Qualifications:
- Current valid Ontario Security Guard license required
- Minimum Grade 12 or GED required
- Security experience and experience working in a healthcare environment are assets.
- Awareness of the need for confidentiality
- Ability to work on your feet for your entire shift
- Ability to speak / understand Oji-Cree is an asset
Job Duties:
- Monitor CCTV and alarm systems.
- Respond to hospital emergency codes and incidents.
- Conduct security patrols of hospital buildings and grounds.
- Complete occurrence reports and maintain security records.
- Assist staff, patients, and visitors in emergency situations.
- Control access to hospital facilities and restricted areas.
- Support de-escalation efforts involving disruptive individuals.
- Must be available to work all assigned shifts, including night shifts
- Must be physically able to perform duties of the position
- Must adhere to organizational policies and procedures concerning cleaning, hand hygiene and the use of Personal Protective Equipment in support of Infection Control measures and attend training when necessary.
Salary: $25.41 - $27.48 per hour
