Job Description:
Matkowsky Immigration Law is a boutique Canadian and US immigration law firm based in downtown Toronto, serving clients around the world. We represent individuals, families, and businesses in a wide range of Canadian immigration matters, including temporary residence, permanent residence, family sponsorships, business immigration, inadmissibility matters, humanitarian and compassionate applications, appeals, and Federal Court litigation.
We are looking for an experienced, detail-oriented Immigration Paralegal to join our growing team. This is a fully remote, full-time position for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is passionate about delivering exceptional client service.
Main duties and responsibilities include:
- Assist with file management;
- Draft various file opening documents such as authorization and directions for disclosure;
- Scan and/or organize documents on file servers;
- Document review for completeness;
- Reviewing and proofreading of forms related to immigration applications;
- Organize and compile immigration applications;
- Data entry on IRCC portal;
- Organize and compile disclosure for immigration hearings;
- Draft Notice of Application for Leave and Judicial Review for the Federal Court;
- Compile Application Records and Books of Authority for the Federal Court;
- Drafting and filing case specific inquiries to IRCC;
- Filing Access to Information and Privacy requests;
- Assisting in diarizing of all timelines;
- Respond to client inquires; and
- Performing other general administrative office work as required.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will have:
- Minimum of one year of experience in Canadian immigration law.
- Strong understanding of Canadian immigration legislation, IRCC policies and procedures, and application processes.
- Experience preparing and reviewing a variety of Canadian immigration applications with a high degree of accuracy.
- Ability to work independently while managing multiple files and competing deadlines.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Strong organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail.
- Professional, client-focused approach with the ability to maintain confidentiality.
- High level of computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat.
- Experience using Clio Manage is considered a strong asset.

Experience and Requirements:
- Post-Secondary Qualification
- Experience using Adobe Acrobat Reader, Outlook and Dropbox.
- Experience using Clio Manage and the IRCC online portals is considered a strong asset.
- Ability to complete tasks for rigid deadlines.

Pay: $45,000.00-$55,000.00 per year
