We are seeking a dedicated and friendly Cashier to join our team in a dynamic retail environment. Responsibilities
- Operate the Point of Sale (POS) system to process transactions accurately and efficiently
- Handle cash, credit, and debit transactions while ensuring proper cash handling procedures
- Provide exceptional customer service by greeting customers warmly and addressing their inquiries
- Assist with product demonstrations and upselling techniques to enhance customer experience
- Maintain a clean and organized checkout area, ensuring merchandising standards are met
- Stock shelves as needed and assist with inventory management
- Supervise junior staff members when required, providing guidance and support
- Utilize basic math skills for accurate transaction processing and retail math calculations
Experience
- Previous cashiering experience in a grocery store or retail environment is highly desirable
- Familiarity with POS systems and cash handling procedures
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with an emphasis on phone etiquette
