Job Overview:
We are seeking two skilled Journeyman Sheet Metal Workers to join our team. The ideal candidates will have extensive experience in sheet metal fabrication, installation, and repair, with a strong focus on HVAC systems and ductwork. You will work on a variety of commercial and industrial projects, ensuring high-quality installations that meet specifications and building codes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Fabricate, assemble, and install sheet metal products, including ductwork, HVAC systems, and related components.
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine project requirements.
- Measure, cut, shape, and join sheet metal using hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment.
- Install and repair sheet metal systems according to industry standards and building codes.
- Collaborate with team members, including apprentices, to complete projects efficiently.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Perform maintenance and troubleshooting of sheet metal components as needed.
Qualifications:
- Valid Journeyman Sheet Metal certification or equivalent ( Red Seal in Canada, B.C/provincial license).
- Minimum of 3–5 years of experience as a licensed sheet metal journeyperson.
- Proficiency in sheet metal fabrication techniques, including riveting, welding, and soldering.
- Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
- Familiarity with HVAC systems and commercial/industrial sheet metal applications.
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record (preferred).
- Excellent attention to detail, time management, and teamwork skills.
- Physical stamina to lift heavy materials and work in various conditions.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with architectural sheet metal or specialized systems (e.g., weather hoods, door canopies).
- Prior experience mentoring or supervising apprentices.
- Knowledge of relevant building codes and safety regulations.
