Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced E&I QA/QC Inspector to join our fabrication shop in Nisku, AB. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring all electrical and instrumentation work performed within the shop meets project specifications, client requirements, industry codes, and quality standards.This role requires strong technical knowledge of electrical and instrumentation systems, inspection procedures, and quality documentation within an industrial fabrication environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform inspections of electrical and instrumentation installations, assemblies, and fabrication activities.
- Review drawings, specifications, scopes of work, and inspection test plans (ITPs).
- Verify work complies with project requirements, client specifications, and applicable codes and standards.
- Conduct inspections related to cable installations, terminations, instrumentation devices, control panels, and associated systems.
- Monitor fabrication and assembly activities to ensure quality requirements are maintained.
- Coordinate hold points, witness points, and client inspections as required.
- Prepare and maintain QA/QC documentation including inspection reports, turnover packages, and deficiency logs.
- Identify non-conformances and assist in tracking corrective actions.
- Work closely with fabrication personnel, supervisors, and project teams to resolve quality concerns.
- Ensure proper calibration and control of inspection and testing equipment.
- Promote compliance with company safety standards and procedures.
Qualifications:
- Journeyperson Electrician, Instrumentation Technician, Electrical Engineering Technologist, or equivalent related background preferred.
- Strong understanding of QA/QC processes, inspection procedures, and documentation requirements.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, loop drawings, P&IDs, specifications, and technical documentation.
- Knowledge of applicable codes and standards related to electrical and instrumentation systems.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and electronic quality documentation systems.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with module fabrication, industrial facilities, or oil & gas projects.
- Familiarity with client turnover packages and project completion documentation.
- Exposure to commissioning and pre-commissioning activities.
- Knowledge of inspection test plans (ITPs), turnover systems, and quality management processes.
- Previous experience working in fabrication shop environments.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to spend time both in office and active shop environments.
- Comfortable working around fabrication activities, heavy equipment, and industrial operations.
- Ability to access work areas and conduct field/shop inspections as required.
Compensation & Benefits:
- $50/hr-$55/hr
