Job Summary
We are seeking a friendly and efficient Cashier to join our retail team. The ideal candidate will provide excellent customer service, handle transactions accurately, and contribute to a positive shopping experience. Experience in retail sales or merchandising are a plus. This role involves engaging with customers, operating POS systems, and supporting sales efforts through upselling and product knowledge. The Cashier plays a vital role in maintaining store organization and ensuring smooth checkout processes.
Duties
- Greet customers warmly and provide exceptional customer service
- Operate POS systems accurately to process sales transactions
- Handle cash, credit, and digital payments with precision and security
- Assist customers with product inquiries, demonstrations, and upselling opportunities
- Maintain organized checkout areas and ensure product displays are tidy
- Engage in basic merchandising tasks to enhance store presentation
- Communicate effectively with customers, providing clear information about products and services
- Manage time efficiently during busy periods to minimize wait times
- Uphold phone etiquette when assisting customers via phone or online inquiries
- Support store team with inventory management and restocking as needed
Experience
- Previous experience in retail sales, cashiering, or customer service preferred
- Knowledge of POS systems, cash handling procedures, and basic math skills required
- Strong communication skills, organizational skills, and time management abilities essential for success
- Experience with product demos, upselling techniques, or technical sales is a plus
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining professionalism and attention to detail
Pay: From $16.35 per hour
