Financial Services Representative (Full-Time)
Location: North Vancouver, BC V7L 2L3
Pay: From $19.45/hour + guaranteed commission
Schedule: Monday–Friday| 5 AM to 1:30 PM or 6 AM to 2:30 PM | 40 hours/week

Position Summary
The Loan Assessor & Originator is responsible for reviewing, evaluating, and finalizing loan applications to determine customer eligibility and risk. This role involves analyzing financial documentation, identifying potential risks, ensuring compliance with underwriting guidelines, and approving or declining applications accordingly. The position plays a critical role in maintaining responsible lending practices while ensuring efficient loan processing and excellent service for our customers.
Key Responsibilities
- Loan Assessment & Risk Evaluation
- Review loan applications and supporting documentation to determine eligibility and risk.
- Pull audits and review customer bank statements to assess financial stability and repayment ability.
- Identify potential risks or predetermined decline reasons based on underwriting guidelines.
- Decline applications that fail to meet established lending criteria.
- Return files to agents when required information is missing or incomplete.
- Determine appropriate credit limits based on the quality and analysis of customer bank statements.
- Accurately enter customer banking details, lenders identified on statements, direct debits, pay frequency, and approved credit limits into the system.
- Finalize and approve loan applications that meet all underwriting requirements.
Loan Origination & Funding
- Review and validate loan approvals completed by assessors.
- Double-check application details to ensure all risks and decline reasons have been properly evaluated.
- Verify employment through Verification of Employment (VOE) to confirm active employment.
- Ensure the final loan (FNL) process has been completed accurately.
- Confirm banking information and payment details for accuracy.
- Coordinate with customer service to obtain missing or additional documentation when necessary.
- Release and issue loan funds once all information has been verified and approved.
Additional Responsibilities & Growth Opportunities
Auto Approvals
- Review and process system-approved loan applications.
- Evaluate bank statements and ensure files meet modified underwriting rules.
- Decline applications only when permitted under the established criteria.
Return Customers & Debit Card Payments
- Process applications for returning customers seeking additional loans.
- Manage debit card payments made toward existing loan balances.
Maintenance
- Investigate issues and take appropriate action based on the nature of the request.
Qualifications
- Experience in financial services, lending, underwriting, or loan processing preferred.
- Strong analytical and decision-making skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to assess financial documentation such as bank statements and income verification.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to follow strict compliance and underwriting guidelines.
