Job Summary
Staff Plus is currently seeking a Batching Operator to support our client’s food manufacturing operations. This role involves mixing large quantities of raw materials to produce sauces, condiments, and salad dressings while following strict food safety, quality, and production standards in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Review production schedules and report to the assigned batching station.
- Conduct pre-start inspections and follow safety checks in line with GMP.
- Connect and clean hoses to prepare equipment for production.
- Program batching machinery using HMI systems and verify ingredient inputs.
- Collect spices and raw materials from Material Handlers and Spice Preparers.
- Confirm ingredient amounts using mental calculations or a calculator.
- Cook assigned batches while monitoring quality and performing required CCP checks.
- Transfer finished products to storage tanks or production lines.
- Reset equipment efficiently to start subsequent batches.
- Carry out cleaning-in-place (CIP) processes for product changeovers.
- Maintain productivity while ensuring all safety procedures are followed.
- Communicate with team members to manage ingredient handling and maintain a tidy workstation.
- Operate multiple batching stations and assist colleagues as needed.
Requirements
- Minimum 6 months of experience in food manufacturing.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Previous cooking or food preparation experience is preferred.
- Experience operating lift trucks is an asset.
- Ability to understand and operate HMI systems.
- Willingness to learn new processes and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Comfortable lifting and carrying items up to 50 lbs.
- Able to stand for long periods, including at heights up to 15 feet.
- Ability to work in high noise environments (hearing protection available).
- Able to handle exposure to varying temperatures, humidity, and cooking heat.
- Comfortable working around dust, allergens, and strong food aromas.
