Qualifications – Long-Term Care Home
- Registered Nurse (RN) in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO)
- Minimum 3–5 years of Long-Term Care (LTC) experience required
- Approximately 1 year of Director of Care (DOC) experience required
- Current BLS/CPR certification required
- Demonstrated leadership experience in a healthcare setting
- Strong knowledge of LTC inspections and FLTCA (Fixing Long-Term Care Act) requirements
- Start Date: ASAP
- End Date: 3 or 6-month assignment with possibility of extension
- Ability to support regulatory compliance and quality improvement initiatives
- Accommodations: Not provided

- Hours: Full-time hours
Responsibilities:
The Director of Care (DOC) is required to adhere to the scope of practice as defined by the College of Nurses of Ontario. Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:
- Overseeing clinical operations within the long-term care home
- Leading and supporting the nursing team to ensure high-quality resident care
- Ensuring compliance with Ministry regulations, inspections, and FLTCA standards
- Coordinating care plans and working collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams
- Monitoring clinical outcomes and implementing quality improvement initiatives
- Supporting staff development, performance management, and scheduling oversight
- Maintaining accurate clinical documentation and ensuring regulatory standards are met
Note: Duties may vary slightly based on facility needs, with specific guidance provided during site orientation. Relocation, travel, and accommodation costs are not reimbursed.
Experience:
- 3–5 years of relevant Canadian Long-Term Care experience (required)
- Approximately 1 year of Director of Care experience (required)
- Experience supporting LTC inspections and compliance processes (required)
- Familiarity with PointClickCare or similar LTC documentation systems is an asset
- Ability to work independently and lead clinical teams effectively
- Strong clinical judgment and ability to adapt in a fast-paced environment
