Child & Family Therapist – Relational & Attachment-Based Practice
Independent Contractor | Part-time or Full-time
Belleville, ON (In-Person Required)
About the Role
Some therapists will read this posting and feel nothing.
Others will feel a very clear “yes.”
If you are looking to do meaningful, relational work with children and families—and to be part of a team where that way of working is shared—you may find what you are looking for here.
At The Relationship Centre, we are an attachment-based, relational therapy practice supporting children, families, couples, and individuals across Eastern Ontario. Our work is grounded in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), attachment science, and trauma-informed care.
We are intentionally growing our child and family services in Belleville with care, support, and a strong relational foundation.
This role is best suited to a therapist who already has experience providing therapy or counselling to children, youth, and families and is looking for a practice where attachment-based and relational work are deeply valued.
About Us
We believe therapy happens in relationship.
That means:
- We pay attention to what is happening beneath the surface
- We care about emotional experience—not just behaviour
- We understand children within the context of their relationships
- We value reflection, collaboration, and ongoing growth
This is true in how we work with clients—and how we work with each other.
Our Work with Children and Families
We do not approach child therapy simply as behaviour to manage.
We are listening for:
- What the child is feeling
- What the child is needing
- What is happening in the relationships around them
This often means the work includes:
- The child
- The caregiver
- And the space between them
Our clinical work is intentionally grounded in attachment and Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), while remaining flexible, thoughtful, and individualized to each family.
Who This Role Is For
This role may be a strong fit if you:
- Have experience providing therapy or counselling to children, youth, and families
- Are interested in attachment-based, EFT-informed, or relational approaches
- Value caregiver involvement as part of the therapeutic process
- Appreciate consultation, reflection, and collaborative practice
- Want to continue growing clinically within a supportive team environment
- Are looking for a connected and collaborative practice environment—not simply a place to rent office space
Who This Role Is Not For
This role is likely not a fit if you:
- Prefer to work independently without caregiver involvement
- Are primarily looking to supplement another private practice
- Prefer high-volume or strategy-focused work without relational depth
- Want a role where you can work in isolation without team connection
- Are looking primarily for behavioural management, assessment, or crisis-focused work without an interest in deeper relational and attachment-based therapy
We believe thoughtful fit matters—for both the therapist and the team.
