Anchor Specialized Support Services is seeking a Behavior Therapy Assistant with 1 or more years of experience working with youth and adults with autism spectrum disorder and/or developmental disabilities, high risk behaviour, dual diagnosis and a wide variety of mental health difficulties. In conjunction with families, caregivers and a variety of treatment professionals, the behaviour therapy assistant would complete needed assessments, service coordination and generate behaviour support plans for children, youth and adults with with behavioural challenges. This individual would be operating under the supervision of Anchor’s Clinical Director and BCBA and as such, collecting the needed supervision hours required to obtain their BCBA certification. The Behaviour Therapy Assistant will work as a member of an integrated service delivery team within ASD, developmental services and agencies that serve individuals with complex special needs. Duties will include:
- Under the supervision of the BCBA, design and implement individualized treatment plans, behavioural support plans and strategies
- Under the direct supervision of the BCBA, develop new programs and perform ongoing adjustments to current programs as needed
- Collaborate with treatment team (director, parents and other support network) to review case progress
- Provide support for clinicians and therapists, in all policies and procedures
- Develop performance remediation plans for team members
- Maintain caseload of billable hours in addition to supervisory duties as directed by Anchor’s clinical director
- Implement individualized treatment plans, behavioral support plans and strategies
Qualifications for employment include:
- Diploma in behavioral sciences; Bachelor’s degree in Psychology or related field (for BCaBA) and/or have or in the process of completing a Master’s in Applied Behaviour Analysis or related Board Certified Assistant Behaviour Analyst (BCaBA) certification OR working toward their board certified behavior analyst cert.
- Ability to adhere to organizational policies and procedures and abide by code of ethics as indicated by the Behaviour Analyst Certification Board; Commitment to maintain client confidentiality and adhere to Provincial legislation (eg: PHIPPA, Services and Supports etc).
- Knowledge of instructional procedures and training curriculums (eg: DTT, AIM, PEAK, EFL, AFLS, VB-MAPP etc) 2 + years experience working with youth/adults developmental disabilities and/or autism
- Knowledge of ABA and DTT is required
- Valid driver’s license and a reliable form of insured transportation (mileage reimbursement included)
- Must possess excellent leadership, interpersonal, problem-solving and time management skills
- Proficiency in written and spoken English, with fluency in a foreign language a plus
- Aptitude to engage in higher-level management functions when required
- Ability to communicate with us routinely, regarding schedules and client's changing needs
Job Types: Part-time, Fixed term contract
Pay: $30.00-$36.00 per hour
