Your responsibilities as a dishwasher will include but are not limited to, the following.
- Depending on the requirement, wash dishes, glassware, flatware, pots, and / or pans using dishwashers or by hand.
- Ensure all items are properly cleaned, sanitized, and dried before storage or reuse.
- Sort and stack clean dishes in appropriate storage areas.
- Empty and clean trash cans regularly.
- Maintain cleanliness of kitchen work areas, including floors, walls, and equipment.
- Assist with basic food preparation tasks as needed, such as peeling vegetables or portioning ingredients.
- Follow proper sanitation and safety procedures at all times.
- Dispose of kitchen waste in designated receptacles.
- All sinks must be sanitized at the end of the night
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure efficient flow of dishwashing and kitchen operations.
- Report any maintenance or repair needs to management promptly.
- Adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines.
- Maintain a positive and professional attitude while working in a fast-paced environment.
- Follow instructions from kitchen supervisors or managers.
- Any other responsibilities connected and ancillary to the job function assigned by the supervisor/manager.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous experience working as a dishwasher in a restaurant or similar environment is a plus.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift heavy objects (up to 50 pounds).
- Basic knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Reliable and punctual.
- Willingness to learn and take direction from supervisors.
- Positive attitude and strong work ethic.
