Job Title: Production Technician
Position: Permanent Full-time
Location: Mississauga Office (In person)
Reporting to the Production Manager, the Production Technician is responsible for the general production of the Paramount Power assembly operation. The role includes but is not limited to construction of generator enclosures, assembly of gensets, product testing, general organization of warehouse and occasional job site construction.
The candidate will perform the following duties:
- Responsible for building weatherproof enclosures.
- Assist in positing and securing the generator base on a stable foundation.
- Prepare all parts and necessary tools in preparation of generator assembly.
- Assemble prepared parts including enclosure panels, insulation, motorized dampers & more with both hand and power tools.
- Ensure enclosures are built properly and there are no discrepancies.
- Assemble parts according to design drawings.
- Reconfiguration of parts when approved by Production Supervisor.
- Caulking weatherproof enclosures.
- Assist in performing testing of generators, including connecting cables, hooking up breakers to load banks, connecting fuel sources to engine.
- Responsible for ensuring shared tools are kept organized and maintained.
- Inspect daily all tools and machinery before use.
- Ensure a clean, safe and organized work environment.
- Act as a back up to cover Shipping and Receiving during their absence from work.
- Other duties as assigned
The successful candidate will also obtain the following qualifications & skills for the position:
- High School/College Diploma or Trades School is an asset
- 3 years’ experience in a similar role
- Mechanically inclined with strong electrical/mechanical skills
- Hardworking & self-motivated
- Ability to work independently with multitasking skills
- Effective communication & listening skills
- Team Player with consistent quality workmanship
- Problem-solving with high attention to detail
- Time management skills
- Safety conscious with strong spatial awareness
- Physically fit with the ability to lift up to minimum of 50lbs.
- Certificate of Overhead Crane Safety training is an asset.
- Certificate of Working at Heights training is an asset.
- Comfortable working both indoor and outdoor settings
